Overview

Data pulled out of Big Data storage can still be too big to be comfortably analyzed in relational databases. We call it "Midsize Data", ranging from hundreds of Gigabytes to tens of Terabytes.
Data analysis has becoming a road stopper for Personalized medicine, Microbiomics, Healthcare IT, etc. For those, flexibility of data representation and speed are equally essential. Relational databases cannot provide the desired performance at Midsize Data volumes, while their alternatives lack flexibility and ease of use.
Genome Designs's SciDM data management system was specifically created for "Midsize Data". It supports granularity of relational databases at these data volumes, at lightning-fast speeds.
