Until now, companies had no choice but to rely upon the accuracy of the information provided to them by consumers visiting their websites; a fundamental flaw in the security of the Internet exploited by identity thieves thousands of times every day. This weakness enables criminals to use stolen credit card numbers to purchase products from online retailers, apply for new credit cards and loans in someone else’s name, and redirect another person’s sensitive financial information to themselves.

Each of these scenarios are made possible because confirmations, receipts, and notices are sent to the fake e-mail address provided by whoever initiated the transaction. The actual consumer remains unaware that he or she has been victimized until long after the fact.

iVeriFly prevents these scenarios from occurring. Our solution is simple, but devastatingly effective: before an online transaction can be completed, our system emails a verification prompt to whatever address is provided in connection with that transaction. The customer must answer a series of random, personalized questions drawn from consumer databases licensed to iVeriFly. Only the actual customer will be able to answer these questions, and they must all be answered correctly in order to verify that the customer owns the email address.
