PSD2 – Second Payment Services Directive

Overview

PSD2 is a Payment Services European Directive, with the goal of allowing more transparency, openness and innovation to Financial Institutions.

What you should know:
- PDS2 came into effect in 2016 and should be implemented nationwide by 2018;
- This directive will create opportunities for certain organizations to change business models and gain more customers;
- RTS, a secondary but important component, should be implemented by 2018.
